Richard “Rick” Simon, based in Chicago, is the President and CEO of United Service Companies.

United Service Companies is the parent company of United Security Services Inc., United Maintenance Company, United National Maintenance, U.S. Aviation Services Corp. Inc., and United Temps Inc. The passion and dedication that Rick Simon brings to his role has helped United National Maintenance become the largest cleaning contractor of special events and conventions in the United States.

Rick began working for United Service Companies in 1965 (then United Maintenance). He started his career as a part-time employee while he was still in school. Throughout the years he continued to rise in the company. In 1985, he was promoted to CEO and President. Under his direction, the company went from only having a few small local accounts, to having over a thousand accounts across the United States. These accounts include a number of national and international companies including numerous Fortune 50 companies. With Rick’s commitment to his career, United Service Companies has become one of the fastest-growing security, staffing and cleaning companies in the country.

Richard Simon of Chicago is also a combat veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He enlisted in the service in 1967 and remained an active member until 1970. He served an 18-month deployment in Vietnam. When he returned home, Rick Simon took a job with Chicago law enforcement, where he acted as a Member, Supervising Member and Command Member, also working with other state agencies in numerous capacities. Though no longer an active member of the police force, he sits on the Board of Directors for the Chicago Police Foundation and is an active contributor and board member of the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation. This organization helps provide for the children of fallen and catastrophically injured officers to ensure they can still maintain a high quality of life.

Born and raised in Chicago, Rick Simon is passionate about contributing to his city. He holds a seat on many boards dedicated to enriching the city. Since 1980, he has had an active role on the board of the Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau, including serving as its Chairman, now known as Choose Chicago. He has also sat on the boards for the Greater North Michigan Avenue Association, now known as the Magnificent Mile Association, Gateway Green, Friends of the Park, and the Illinois Hotel and Lodging Association. Richard Simon is the only non-hotel professional on the board of the Illinois Hotel and Lodging Association.

He is grateful for the chance his work gives him to play an active role in the growth and development of his team. Rick Simon makes it a point to promote employees from within to allow them the chance to progress their career with United Service Companies.
